Varför den här varianten
Välj den om
Balances your priorities with a 1793€ price tag and a 50W idle draw.
Vad den offrar
- Not specialized: it does not push any single dimension (value, silence, expansion) to the extreme.
Hur delarna valdes
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X: 8 cores / 16 threads covers the 7 cores needed with headroom.
- Motherboard AMD B550 (AM4): matches the CPU socket and case size.
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 — meets the 32GB the workload requires.
Varför inte de andra
- Smart build — best all-round beats "Performance build — maximum capability" on performance -12, efficiency +8, expandability +15, silence -13, longevity -8 — that is why it is recommended for your priorities.

Check the balance
This build may struggle with the stated workload.
Kritisk
CPU close to the limit
The workload uses 88% of the CPU — little headroom for background tasks or growth.
Kritisk
RAM is nearly exhausted
The workload needs 100% of available RAM — swapping will hurt.

Framtidssäkerhetspoäng
Stark framtidssäkerhet82/100
Strong future-proofing (82/100) — this build should stay relevant for years without major surgery.
Upgrade path75
DIY build — the CPU, motherboard and PSU can each be upgraded independently without replacing the whole system.
Expansion100
Expansion headroom: 0 PCIe slot(s), 1 M.2, 58 SATA, 1 drive bay(s), 2 RAM slot(s) free.
Storage growth90
Storage is 84% utilized with 1 free drive bay(s) and 58 free SATA port(s).
Memory growth75
2 RAM slot(s) free; memory is 100% utilized.
Networking80
Networking is 2500 Mbps.
Replacement ease90
ATX form factor with standard, socketed components — most parts are easy to replace.
Workload change65
A 6GB GPU is present — AI and transcoding workloads are covered.
Homelab Risk Score
Låg risk10/100
Low risk (10/100) — sensible redundancy and headroom; no single point of failure is exposed.
low
Single point of failure
Storage has redundancy (mirror) — a single drive failure does not take the array down.Åtgärd: Continue a 3-2-1 backup strategy; redundancy is not a backup.
low
Storage risk
6 NAS-rated hard drive(s) — rated for 24/7 operation.Åtgärd: Keep drives cool and monitor SMART health.
low
Data loss risk
Redundancy protects against drive failure, though it is not a substitute for backups.Åtgärd: Follow a 3-2-1 backup rule: at least one copy off the box.
low
Power risk
PSU is 550W, peak load 200W (36%).Åtgärd: PSU sizing leaves healthy headroom for spikes and future parts.
low
Network risk
Single 2500 Mbps NIC — a switch/port failure takes the box fully offline, and multi-user media can saturate 2500 Mbps.Åtgärd: Consider a second NIC or a managed switch; for heavy media, plan for 2.5/10G before the build.
low
Expansion risk
0 PCIe, 1 M.2, 58 SATA, 1 bays free.Åtgärd: Healthy room for future drives, NICs and accelerators.
low
Upgrade risk
2022 platform — current generation with a forward-looking socket/feature set.Åtgärd: Buy for the workload, not the socket — upgrade paths are a bonus, not a guarantee.
Slutlig byggaudit

Kritisk
CPU close to the limit
The workload uses 88% of the CPU — little headroom for background tasks or growth.Åtgärd: Consider a stronger CPU or drop a secondary workload.compute
Kritisk
RAM is nearly exhausted
The workload needs 100% of available RAM — swapping will hurt.Åtgärd: Add more RAM now, while slots are still free.memory

Add a UPS
An always-on server holding data should survive power blips.Åtgärd: Add a line-interactive UPS sized for the build's peak draw (≥ 10 min at typical load for a clean shutdown).power
Valfritt
Keep a backup off-box
Redundancy inside the box does not survive fire, theft or a whole-array fault.Åtgärd: Mirror the important data to an external drive, a second box, or cloud.storage

RAM expansion available
2 RAM slot(s) free for a later upgrade.Åtgärd: Leave them free until the workload actually grows.memory

Drive bays remain
1 drive bay(s) free for future capacity.Åtgärd: Expand capacity in pairs (mirror/parity) when needed.storage
Vad som blir gränsen
RAM is tight is the most likely thing to date this build within 1-2y.
1-2y
RAM is tight
Varför: Memory is 100% utilized — a growing workload will hit the ceiling quickly.Vad du ska göra: Add the remaining RAM before prices change, while slots are free.
1-2y
Storage nearly full
Varför: 84% of raw capacity is already in use — media libraries and backups grow fast.Vad du ska göra: Expanding is easy: add a drive to the free bays/ports.
1-2y
CPU is the next bottleneck
Varför: The CPU runs at 88% of capacity — new services or more users will hit the wall first.Vad du ska göra: Consider a stronger CPU within the same socket generation while it is still cheap.
Vad som begränsar dig först
RAM is the closest to its limit (100% of capacity in use) — it will likely force the next upgrade.
