Dlaczego ten wariant

Wybierz go, jeśli

Balances your priorities with a 1820€ price tag and a 42W idle draw.

Co poświęca

Not specialized: it does not push any single dimension (value, silence, expansion) to the extreme.

Jak dobrano części

AMD Ryzen 7 5700: 8 cores / 16 threads covers the 8 cores needed with headroom.
Motherboard AMD B550 (AM4): matches the CPU socket and case size.
RAM: 32GB DDR4 — meets the 32GB the workload requires.

Dlaczego nie pozostałe

Smart build — best all-round beats "Performance build — maximum capability" on performance -28, value +6, expandability +11, silence +13, longevity -6 — that is why it is recommended for your priorities.

Silna odporność na przyszłość

85/100

Strong future-proofing (85/100) — this build should stay relevant for years without major surgery.

Upgrade path75

DIY build — the CPU, motherboard and PSU can each be upgraded independently without replacing the whole system.

Expansion100

Expansion headroom: 1 PCIe slot(s), 1 M.2, 57 SATA, 3 drive bay(s), 2 RAM slot(s) free.

Storage growth90

Storage is 84% utilized with 3 free drive bay(s) and 57 free SATA port(s).

Memory growth75

2 RAM slot(s) free; memory is 100% utilized.

Networking95

Networking is 10000 Mbps, and a free PCIe slot can add a faster NIC later.

Replacement ease90

ATX form factor with standard, socketed components — most parts are easy to replace.

Workload change70

No GPU, but there is room (1 PCIe slot(s), PSU headroom 5x) to add one for AI/transcoding.

Wynik ryzyka homelab

Niskie ryzyko

10/100

Low risk (10/100) — sensible redundancy and headroom; no single point of failure is exposed.

low

Single point of failure

Storage has redundancy (parity1) — a single drive failure does not take the array down.Rozwiązanie: Continue a 3-2-1 backup strategy; redundancy is not a backup.

low

Storage risk

7 NAS-rated hard drive(s) — rated for 24/7 operation.Rozwiązanie: Keep drives cool and monitor SMART health.

low

Data loss risk

Redundancy protects against drive failure, though it is not a substitute for backups.Rozwiązanie: Follow a 3-2-1 backup rule: at least one copy off the box.

low

Power risk

PSU is 650W, peak load 130W (20%).Rozwiązanie: PSU sizing leaves healthy headroom for spikes and future parts.

low

Network risk

Single 10000 Mbps NIC — a switch/port failure takes the box fully offline, and multi-user media can saturate 10000 Mbps.Rozwiązanie: Consider a second NIC or a managed switch; for heavy media, plan for 2.5/10G before the build.

low

Expansion risk

1 PCIe, 1 M.2, 57 SATA, 3 bays free.Rozwiązanie: Healthy room for future drives, NICs and accelerators.

low

Upgrade risk

2022 platform — current generation with a forward-looking socket/feature set.Rozwiązanie: Buy for the workload, not the socket — upgrade paths are a bonus, not a guarantee.

Końcowy audyt builda

Audit passed (0 critical, 0 warning) — mostly optional and future considerations remain.

2 Opcjonalny3 Przyszłość

Opcjonalny

Add a UPS

An always-on server holding data should survive power blips.Działanie: Add a line-interactive UPS sized for the build's peak draw (≥ 10 min at typical load for a clean shutdown).power

Opcjonalny

Keep a backup off-box

Redundancy inside the box does not survive fire, theft or a whole-array fault.Działanie: Mirror the important data to an external drive, a second box, or cloud.storage

Przyszłość

RAM expansion available

2 RAM slot(s) free for a later upgrade.Działanie: Leave them free until the workload actually grows.memory

Przyszłość

Drive bays remain

3 drive bay(s) free for future capacity.Działanie: Expand capacity in pairs (mirror/parity) when needed.storage

Przyszłość

PCIe slot available

1 free PCIe slot(s) for a NIC, HBA or GPU later.Działanie: Use it for a 10G NIC, extra HBA, or an accelerator when the need appears.expansion

Co stanie się limitem

RAM is tight is the most likely thing to date this build within 1-2y.

1-2y

RAM is tight

Dlaczego: Memory is 100% utilized — a growing workload will hit the ceiling quickly.Co zrobić: Add the remaining RAM before prices change, while slots are free.

1-2y

Storage nearly full

Dlaczego: 84% of raw capacity is already in use — media libraries and backups grow fast.Co zrobić: Expanding is easy: add a drive to the free bays/ports.

1-2y

CPU is the next bottleneck

Dlaczego: The CPU runs at 100% of capacity — new services or more users will hit the wall first.Co zrobić: Consider a stronger CPU within the same socket generation while it is still cheap.
