Dlaczego ten wariant
Wybierz go, jeśli
Balances your priorities with a 2268€ price tag and a 36W idle draw.
Co poświęca
- Not specialized: it does not push any single dimension (value, silence, expansion) to the extreme.
Jak dobrano części
- AMD Ryzen 5 5500: 6 cores / 12 threads covers the 6 cores needed with headroom.
- Motherboard AMD B550 (AM4): matches the CPU socket and case size.
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 — meets the 24GB the workload requires.
Dlaczego nie pozostałe
- Smart build — best all-round beats "Long-term build — expandable & future-proof" on performance -22, expandability +10, longevity -7 — that is why it is recommended for your priorities.

Wynik odporności na przyszłość
Silna odporność na przyszłość79/100
Strong future-proofing (79/100) — this build should stay relevant for years without major surgery.
Upgrade path75
DIY build — the CPU, motherboard and PSU can each be upgraded independently without replacing the whole system.
Expansion100
Expansion headroom: 2 PCIe slot(s), 2 M.2, 58 SATA, 1 drive bay(s), 2 RAM slot(s) free.
Storage growth90
Storage is 71% utilized with 1 free drive bay(s) and 58 free SATA port(s).
Memory growth75
2 RAM slot(s) free; memory is 75% utilized.
Networking55
Networking is 1000 Mbps, and a free PCIe slot can add a faster NIC later.
Replacement ease90
ATX form factor with standard, socketed components — most parts are easy to replace.
Workload change70
No GPU, but there is room (2 PCIe slot(s), PSU headroom 4.2x) to add one for AI/transcoding.
Wynik ryzyka homelab
Niskie ryzyko13/100
Low risk (13/100) — sensible redundancy and headroom; no single point of failure is exposed.
low
Single point of failure
Storage has redundancy (parity2) — a single drive failure does not take the array down.Rozwiązanie: Continue a 3-2-1 backup strategy; redundancy is not a backup.
low
Storage risk
6 NAS-rated hard drive(s) — rated for 24/7 operation.Rozwiązanie: Keep drives cool and monitor SMART health.
low
Data loss risk
Redundancy protects against drive failure, though it is not a substitute for backups.Rozwiązanie: Follow a 3-2-1 backup rule: at least one copy off the box.
low
Power risk
PSU is 500W, peak load 120W (24%).Rozwiązanie: PSU sizing leaves healthy headroom for spikes and future parts.
medium
Network risk
Single 1000 Mbps NIC — a switch/port failure takes the box fully offline, and multi-user media can saturate 1000 Mbps.Rozwiązanie: Consider a second NIC or a managed switch; for heavy media, plan for 2.5/10G before the build.
low
Expansion risk
2 PCIe, 2 M.2, 58 SATA, 1 bays free.Rozwiązanie: Healthy room for future drives, NICs and accelerators.
low
Upgrade risk
2022 platform — current generation with a forward-looking socket/feature set.Rozwiązanie: Buy for the workload, not the socket — upgrade paths are a bonus, not a guarantee.
Końcowy audyt builda
Audit passed (0 critical, 0 warning) — mostly optional and future considerations remain.

Optymalizacja
Plan faster networking
1G networking is fine today but will bottleneck multi-user media or big NAS transfers at 80TB.Działanie: Budget for a 2.5G/10G NIC and switch later, or spec it now.network
Opcjonalny
Add a UPS
An always-on server holding data should survive power blips.Działanie: Add a line-interactive UPS sized for the build's peak draw (≥ 10 min at typical load for a clean shutdown).power
Opcjonalny
Keep a backup off-box
Redundancy inside the box does not survive fire, theft or a whole-array fault.Działanie: Mirror the important data to an external drive, a second box, or cloud.storage
Przyszłość
RAM expansion available
2 RAM slot(s) free for a later upgrade.Działanie: Leave them free until the workload actually grows.memory
Przyszłość
Drive bays remain
1 drive bay(s) free for future capacity.Działanie: Expand capacity in pairs (mirror/parity) when needed.storage
Przyszłość
PCIe slot available
2 free PCIe slot(s) for a NIC, HBA or GPU later.Działanie: Use it for a 10G NIC, extra HBA, or an accelerator when the need appears.expansion
Co stanie się limitem
CPU is the next bottleneck is the most likely thing to date this build within 1-2y.
1-2y
CPU is the next bottleneck
Dlaczego: The CPU runs at 100% of capacity — new services or more users will hit the wall first.Co zrobić: Consider a stronger CPU within the same socket generation while it is still cheap.
3-5y
Storage growing
Dlaczego: 71% of capacity in use — comfortable today, tighter over a few years.Co zrobić: Plan the growth curve; keep at least one bay free for the next drive.
3-5y
1G networking becomes the ceiling
Dlaczego: A 1000 Mbps link will cap NAS transfers and multi-user media before the CPU or disks do.Co zrobić: Add a 2.5G/10G NIC when the switch investment makes sense.
Co ograniczy cię najpierw
CPU is the closest to its limit (100% of capacity in use) — it will likely force the next upgrade.
- Add SURALLOW RX 580 8GB Graphics Card
- Add Microconnect MC-PCIEX4-X520-DA1 network card Internal Fiber 10000 Mbit/s
- Upgrade cpu to AMD Ryzen 7 5700
